Welcome to my site. So, all the video trailers and posts over the last couple of months have been alluding to something, and that something is my debut novel, The G Club.
The G Club is the story of two strangers struggling with grief who are trying very different ways to cope with their pain.
On his first day back to work, Jamie meets an older lady who is at a different stage of the grieving process.
By night, Jamie stumbles into the world of the illegal drug ‘G’ (GHB) as a way for him to block out his pain. By day, he attempts to help this stranger with her own grief, while also trying to hold down his job as a counsellor.
Unknowingly, they require one another to begin the healing process and start dealing with their loss.
I started writing this book in October 2016 and finished it in February 2017. The next few months involved edits, edits and more edits before some friends and family began to read it. They filled in an anonymous survey to give me hard hitting reviews. These were all very positive.
I then began to contact literary agents, to hopefully convince them that this book might be something they would be interested in putting forward to publishing houses. I was aware from the outset that this process was more difficult than writing the book and that it was disheartening. I can confirm that these are both true. I kept holding on to the notion that J.K Rowling received 12 rejection letters before someone saw potential in her amazing Harry Potter books.
One agent got back to me, she wanted me to send the entire manuscript, but alas, it wasn't for her. I saw an article about the Editor in Chief of ATTITUDE magazine who had books published in the past who was saying that his new manuscript wasn't picked up because it was 'too gay.' It was then that I began to think that I should just publish The G Club myself via Amazon - and that's what I've done.
You can pre-order an eBook version of The G Club before it's release date by using this link. The paperback version will be available to buy on Release Day: 4th December 2017.
Here it is...I hope you enjoy it and if you do, spread the word LIKE, SHARE, TWEET.
